I participate in the insurance networks of Select Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Pacific Source.
If I am not in your insurance network you may still be able to receive some reimbursement from your insurance company for the cost of your sessions. You would pay me directly and I would provide you with a monthly statement to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If this interests you, I would suggest researching what out of network benefits are included in your plan and the process for submitting a request for reimbursement.
Please note: even if I’m in your insurance network you may have a deductible that you have to meet before your insurance will pay anything for your sessions, or you may have a copay for your sessions. Please research this in advance so you are not surprised by these costs.
A note about couples therapy and insurance:
Unfortunately, couples counseling is not considered a billable medical service so insurance companies do not pay for it. Couples seeking relationship counseling may need to pay out of pocket. However, married couples may engage in Family Therapy, a service which is paid for by insurance companies. In order for me to bill insurance for Family Therapy, the insured person must meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis, and the family sessions must occur as part of treatment for those issues.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about any of this.
